HIMALAYA ESPRESSO ORIGINS

Fresh-roasted coffee is direct trade, organically grown.

A bourbon hybrid from the nourishing lands of Sumatra and the wild pachamara seeds from Papau New Guinea, just some of the origins of Himalayan-grown coffee.  It makes an outrageous, single-source espresso with sophisticated aroma & complex character grown only in the mineral-rich, glacier river valleys of Nepal. Nepalese farmers have been experimentally growing several varietals of coffee from all regions of the coffee belt. They have research documenting back over 70 years of trials and have knowledge of which varieties have good harvest yield. At Cafe HEAT, we encourage farmers to grow varietals for best cup - with the hopes Nepal will one day host their own democratic, coffee cup competitions!

We make specialty drinks made from the aromatic, flavorful teas and coffees from Nepal. At festivals & Himalayan fairs we make butter tea & coffees (aka bullet coffee)! We use a combination of fresh Himalayan espresso or tea, local grass-fed butter, aromatic spices, hemp milk, super-food ingredients such as raw cacao and maca-root, unrefined coconut oil and honey, and vanilla or caramel to taste. All ingredients are blended into a frothy, light drink that tastes as colorful as the Himalayas. The oils and fats (aside from being delicious) help carry caffeine more evenly throughout the body, while the spices give you a taste of Nepali flavor. Himalayan Butter (BULLET) Coffee: 2 shots espresso, 1 tbsp. raw cacao, 1 tbsp. honey or agave, 1/2 tspn. orginal spice blend*, 1 tbsp. unrefined coconut oil, 1 tbsp. grass-fed butter (ghee or clarified butter may be used as non-dairy alternative), 1.5 cups non-dairy milk.   Blend together on high or use frothing wand on espresso machine to create smooth texture & light body.  Pour into cup. Enjoy! *Original spice blend: cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, bl. pepper, nutmeg, clove
